What actually you are talking about. From the search engine’s point of views or website’s view? For search engine like Google it does not matter, but for the Bing it matter a lot. If you are creating a website for better user experience then you should take care of your content for more visibility. SEO professionals never allows you to include mistake in spellings and grammar in content.

Normally if your ask website owner’s and other professionals they will surely say – yes. The grammar is very important for Google ranking factor. But is you listen or read the technical people from Google and Bing, this will be clear to you easily.

It is still under doubt that spelling and grammar really matter as a direct ranking factors. You will know in deep after reading this short article.

What Bing Product Manager Said About Spelling and Grammar

Duane Forrester, Senior Product Manager at Bing, said in Bing’s blog:

“As you’re judging others’ writing, so the engines judge yours. If you struggle to get past typos, why would an engine show a page of content with errors higher in the rankings when other pages of error free content exist to serve the searcher? Like it or not, we’re judged by the quality of the results we show. So we are constantly watching the quality of the content we see.”

In short, he clarify that if spend time to proofread the content of a website. There is no chance to give you higher rank than others who make efforts to deliver higher quality of error free content.

What Does Google’s John Muller Said About Grammar Impact

Google’s John Mueller said in a webmaster hangout video on YouTube, that he is not yet not aware of any Google algorithms that demote websites for using bad grammar in content:

Here is what he said…

“It is more a matter of how [your content] is received from a user point of view. If you are a banking web site and you have terrible English on it, then I assume users will lose trust in your website. But for other things, it is the way the web just comes. Especially user generated content, you can’t fix their grammar, you probably could but it is impractical.”

So, that is really amazing to listen this, because earlier, me to also think that grammar matter a lot to give high quality and rank to a website.

He further added

“I don’t know if any of our algorithms specifically look for the grammar and say this web site uses English in a bad way, we will demote it. It is possible but it feels really kind of niche. We can find better ways of finding lower quality content than just checking the grammar.”

So, it means Google have the better way to find the nice quality of content. That is why Google rank higher those website who deliver unique and fresh content.

“Something like grammar is really hard to do across the internet, where there are so many different languages. We can’t possibly check Swiss German or Telugu websites for grammar.”

The analysis of How Grammar Impact Your SEO reach to conclusion after the specification from Google and Bing that Google does not care about grammar. Bad grammar is an issue for the Bing search engine.

When I try to write content: I include proper spelling and grammar in the content and often it get higher rank in the search.
